Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. margarine
    1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    3 c. Quaker oats
    nuts, raisins and peanut butter (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Beat together margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Add flour to margarine mixture, mixing well.
    Stir in oats.
    Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 8 or 9 minutes for chewy cookies or 10 to 11 minutes for crisp cookies.
