Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    5 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 Tbsp. warm water (105~ to 115~)
    1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in water.
    Sift together dry ingredients; cut in shortening with pastry blender.
    Add yeast mixture and buttermilk to dry ingredients.
    Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead lightly.
    Refrigerate dough until needed.
    Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut into rounds with a 2-inch biscuit cutter.
    Fold in half, as for pocketbook rolls, if desired.
    Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Yield: About 3 dozen.
