Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. mashed bananas (2 very ripe)
    1/2 c. chopped nuts, pecans, walnuts or almonds
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a loaf pan.
    In large bowl with a fork, mix first 5 ingredients.
    With a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    With fork, stir in bananas, eggs and nuts just until well blended.
    Spread batter evenly in pan.
    Bake 55 minutes to 1 hour until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
    Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
    Remove from pan and cool completely.
    Makes 1 loaf.
