Babka - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter
1 qt. milk
1 1/2 lb. sugar
7 eggs (whole)
9 egg yolks
1 orange rind
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. mace
1 box raisins
5 lb. flour less 1 c.
3 pkg. dry yeast
Preparation

Scald milk and butter.
Soak raisins in warm water.
Beat all eggs and sugar.
Add vanilla, orange rind, nutmeg and mace into egg and sugar mixture.
Take 3/4 cup lukewarm water, 1 tablespoon of flour and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Add yeast; mix and dissolve. Let rise to double its bulk.
Add milk into egg mixture.
Add flour (about 2 cups) with raised yeast.
Keep adding flour slowly and mixing.
Add drained raisins before last 2 cups of flour and beat well.
Let rise in pan to double in bulk, then fill pans and let rise about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0 and bake for 1 hour. Makes 3 in funnel cake pans or makes 5 in regular loaf pans.
