Seafoam Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. light brown sugar
    1/3 c. cold water
    1 egg white
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water, without stirring, until it spins a thread when a little is dropped in water.
    Pour slowly into the stiffly beaten egg white.
    Beat until thick.
    Add vanilla and drop from spoon onto wax paper.
    Sprinkle with chopped nuts or place 1 nut on each piece.
