Fried Drumsticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 chicken drumsticks
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. onion powder
    1 c. shortening
    2/3 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Put drumsticks in bowl.
    Pour buttermilk over and turn to coat each piece.
    Marinate in refrigerator an hour.
    Combine dry ingredients in plastic bag.
    Add drumsticks and shake until coated.
    Melt shortening in electric fryer on medium-high heat. Add drumsticks and cook until lightly browned, turning frequently. Reduce heat to low.
    Cover and cook 20 minutes, turning frequently.
    Remove cover.
    Cook on medium-high heat for 3 minutes to get crisp.
    Drain on paper towels.
