Bacon Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    about 1/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    dash of salt
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 c. water or milk
    garden lettuce or other green vegetable
    3 to 4 strips bacon
Preparation
    Beat egg and add sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Beat until smooth.
    Add vinegar and water or milk.
    Cut bacon into small pieces and fry until brown.
    Take bacon from fat and reserve for garnish.
    Boil dressing in fat until thick and mix with lettuce. A hard-boiled egg may be sliced on top with the bacon.
