Beefy Mexican Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plain corn meal
    1 c. milk
    2 eggs
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 to 4 chopped jalapeno peppers
    1/4 c. bacon drippings
    1 (17 oz.) can cream-style corn
    1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion
    8 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Combine corn meal, milk, eggs, salt, soda, bacon drippings and corn in large bowl.
    Mix and set aside.
    Brown meat, drain and set aside.
    Sprinkle 1 tablespoon corn meal in well greased 12-inch iron skillet.
    Pour 1/2 of meal mixture.
    Sprinkle evenly with beef, then onion, then cheese and peppers last.
    Pour remaining batter evenly over all.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
