Fig Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. Crisco
    1/2 c. milk
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In one bowl, cream vanilla, sugar and Crisco; add milk and eggs and mix.
    In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to first mixture slowly, mixing well.
    Roll out on floured board and divide dough.
    Chop 1 pint fig preserves.
    Roll cake dough into large square.
    Spread figs on 1/2 of dough.
    Fold dough over and cut into bars.
    Bake at 350\u00b0
    for 20 minutes.
    Cookies will not brown on top but will on bottom.
