Slovenian Goulash - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. stew meat, cubed
1/2 c. oil
1 c. onions, chopped
1 c. chopped celery
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 c. water with beef bouillon cube
3 carrots (chunks)
3 potatoes (chunks)
salt and pepper to taste
potatoes (optional; you may prefer to serve mashed with goulash over)
Preparation

In a large kettle, prepare ingredients as follows:
Brown cubed meat thoroughly in the oil (slowly until really brown, stirring several times), then add onions, celery, bay leaf and garlic. Brown and mix.
Then add water with bouillon cube (mix again).
Add potatoes and carrots; bring to a boil.
Simmer slowly until meat and vegetables are tender (approximately 1 hour).
Serves approximately 6 people with hearty appetites!
