Mexican Style Chicken Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut up
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 c. bell pepper, chopped
    2 small potatoes, diced 1-inch thick
    2 Tbsp. cumin
    1/2 c. long grain rice
    3 qt. water
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 carrots, sliced 1/2-inch thick
    5 large cloves garlic
    3/4 head cabbage
Preparation
    Place chicken in water.
    Add seasonings, carrots and rice. Let boil for 20 minutes, then lower heat to simmer.
    Let cook for 1 hour.
    Add potatoes and cabbage.
    Continue cooking for 30 minutes.
