London Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    2 1/2 c. flour
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    milk (enough to form soft dough)
    sugar
    jam
Preparation
    Mix salt, baking powder and flour.
    Mix and add butter or margarine, sugar and enough milk to form soft dough.
    Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Spread lightly with butter.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Roll up and cut in slices.
    Place in pan.
    Sprinkle with sugar again.
    Add a spoonful of jam to each slice and bake at 400\u00b0.
    Serve with afternoon tea.
