Chocolate Knockout Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    2 eggs
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 c. soft butter
    3/4 c. water
    1 bag caramels
    2 c. chocolate chips
    pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Mix cake mix, eggs, 1/2 cup milk, butter and water.
    Pour 1/2 of batter into a greased 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Bake 8 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
    While the cake is cooking, melt caramels with 1/4 to 1/2 cup evaporated milk.
    Pour over partially cooked cake.
    Add chocolate chips and pecans.
    Pour rest of cake mix over filling.
    Bake additional 16 to 18 minutes or until done.
    Cool and cut into squares.
