Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo
    1/4 c. water
    12 oz. peanuts
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, Karo and water.
    Stir over low flame until sugar melts.
    Turn flame higher and cook until it spins a 6 or 7-inch thread (238\u00b0).
    Add peanuts and cook slowly until it turns to a golden brown.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla, salt and soda. While still foaming, pour on a greased cookie sheet.
    Cool and break into pieces.
