Layered Orange Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 small lemon and 1 small orange jello
1 1/2 c. boiling water
2 c. cold water
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. plain flour
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
3 bananas, cut up
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 egg yolk
1 c. pineapple juice
1/2 pt. whipped whipping cream
1 c. grated Colby Longhorn cheese
Preparation

Dissolve sugar and flour in little juice and gradually add rest of juice and egg yolk until thickens.
Add 2 tablespoons butter; stir well and cool mixture in cold water (use metal bowl for mixture and place bowl in larger metal or glass bowl with ice cubes and water to cool quickly).
To this cooled mixture, add the 1/2 pint whipped whipping cream.
Then spread this mixture over congealed jello mixture made with lemon jello, orange jello, bananas, crushed pineapple and nuts.
Top with grated cheese.
Very festive.
