Abbott Family Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 qt. chopped cabbage
    1 qt. chopped onions
    2 qt. chopped green tomatoes
    1 qt. chopped hot peppers
    2 qt. vinegar
    2 qt. chopped green and red bell peppers
    1 1/2 qt. water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. canning salt
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in a large kettle.
    Bring to a boil; boil for 5 minutes.
    Pack in sterilized jars.
    Adjust lids.
    Process in boiling water for 10 minutes.
    Yields 18 to 20 pints.
