Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix butter and sugar.
Add vanilla, then flour.
Separate into 2 equal amounts and add red food coloring to 1/2 of dough.
Take 1/2 teaspoon amount of dough from each and roll into balls.
Then roll out each to make a long narrow rope of each, and then twist them together and shape into candy cane shapes.
Place on cookie sheet and bake at 325\u00b0 for about 15 minutes.
Roll in powdered sugar while still warm.
