Monroe Asparagus - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1/4 c. wine vinegar
    3 whole cloves
    1 stick cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 can asparagus
Preparation
    Mix sugar, water, vinegar, cloves, cinnamon stick, celery seed and salt.
    Bring to boil.
    Cool.
    Pour over canned asparagus and cover.
    Chill 12 hours or more.
