Ingredients

1 baked 9-inch pie shell
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 qt. strawberries, washed and hulled
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. heavy cream
Preparation

Spread cream cheese over bottom of pie shell.
Place half of strawberries on cheese.
Mash and strain remaining strawberries (pulp may be used also); bring to boiling point.
Slowly stir in combined sugar and cornstarch.
Continue to stir, cooking slowly to reach boiling point and until mixture thickens.
Cool thoroughly; pour over pie.
Chill and top with cream.
