Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head lettuce, shredded
    1/2 c. chopped pepper
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. grated carrot
    1 pkg. frozen green peas
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    8 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
    2 c. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Layer as follows:
    (first layer) shredded lettuce; (second layer) chopped pepper, onion, celery and grated carrot and (third layer) frozen green peas.
    Put in a large clear bowl; top with mayonnaise, then sprinkle the sugar.
    Finally layer the bacon and cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight.
