Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    2 egg whites, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. butterscotch morsels
Preparation
    Mix flour, baking powder, soda and salt; sift.
    Add nuts to flour mixture.
    Mix well; set aside.
    Melt butter in saucepan; remove from heat.
    Add sugar.
    Blend well, then cool slightly.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Blend well into mixture.
    Add flour mixture in small amounts, mixing well with each addition.
    Mix in butterscotch chips.
    Spread dough in greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool in pan; cut into brownies.
    Yields 16 brownies.
