Christmas Cookies(Cut-Out) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar together.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla.
    Mix dry ingredients together and add gradually to creamed mixture. Chill dough for 2 to 3 hours. Roll to 1/4-inch thickness and cut.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
    Decorate with icing when cooled.
