Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 or 5 green tomatoes (medium size)
    1/2 to 3/4 c. meal
    salt and pepper to taste
    3 to 4 Tbsp. bacon fat
Preparation
    Wash the tomatoes. Cut off the top and bottom. Slice thinly. Roll in meal and fry in bacon drippings until brown on both sides. Drain on paper towel. Serve hot. Serves 4 to 6 people.
