Everyday Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 egg
    melted butter
Preparation
    Scald milk. Add sugar, salt and shortening. Cool until lukewarm.
    Sprinkle yeast on warm water and stir.
    Put a little sugar in yeast water to dissolve. Combine milk mixture and 1 cup flour. Stir by hand.
    Add yeast and egg.
    Stir in remaining flour, a little at a time; beat after each addition until you have a soft dough.
    Cover and let rise in warm place, 1 to 1 1/2 hours until double.
    Turn out onto lightly floured board.
    Toss and coat with flour; knead about 15 times.
    Make balls.
    Coat with butter.
    Let rise in pan 30 to 40 minutes.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
