Mother'S Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. vegetable shortening
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 oz. red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening, add beaten eggs, food coloring and vanilla.
    Sift flour, cocoa and salt, add with buttermilk to sugar mixture.
    Mix soda and vinegar; fold into batter.
    Bake in 3 floured and greased layer pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
