Crystal Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    5 eggs
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream shortening; gradually add and continue to cream sugar with shortening.
    Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift flour, soda and salt together.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Bake in two greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans at 350\u00b0 for approximately one hour.
