Sweet And Sour Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. stew meat
    cooking oil
    2 medium carrots, shredded
    2 medium onions, sliced
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. cold water
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    hot, cooked \"no yolk\" noodles
Preparation
    Cut meat into 3/4-inch cubes.
    Brown meat in oil.
    In the same pan, combine all the other ingredients except the cold water and cornstarch.
    Cook over low heat until the meat is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
    Blend in the cold water with cornstarch and add to the stew.
    Serve over the noodles, cooked per package directions. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
