Pork Chops Jardiniere - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
    2 chicken bouillon cubes
    1 to 1 1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 medium carrot, chopped
    mashed potatoes (optional)
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 medium stalks celery, chopped
    1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Brown pork chops on both sides in hot oil in a large skillet; drain pan drippings.
    Put bouillon cubes in boiling water; stir until dissolved.
    Stir in remaining ingredients; pour over pork chops in skillet.
    Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
    Serve over mashed potatoes if desired.
    Yields 4 servings.
