Chocolate Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    2 c. sifted flour
    3/4 c. chopped dates
    3/4 c. raisins
    1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
    3/4 c. nuts, chopped fine
Preparation
    Blend shortening, sugar, spices and cocoa. Cream well. Add eggs, beating well after each addition. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons flour over fruit. Add flour with soda alternately with applesauce, beating until smooth.
    Last add the nuts and raisins to batter. Bake in angel food pan or 10 x 10-inch loaf pan for 55 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Very moist and does not need icing.
