Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. self-rising flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. evaporated milk
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add all remaining ingredients except flour.
Mix thoroughly.
Add flour (one cup at a time). Roll on a floured board.
Dough will be a little hard to work with at first, but it will get firmer as you re-roll.
Cut with glass or cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until cookie bottoms begin to turn brown.
Makes about 24 cookies.
