Ingredients

1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 clove garlic
6 Tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. water
2 c. cooked or canned beets, drained and sliced
1/4 c. onion, thinly sliced (optional)
Preparation

Combine mustard, sugar, salt, garlic and cloves.
Stir in water and vinegar slowly.
Blend thoroughly and pour over beets and onion.
Refrigerate overnight.
