Orange Supreme Shortcake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pound cake, baked
8 medium oranges
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Peel and remove all membrane from oranges, leaving only pulp. Break into bite size pieces.
Do this over large bowl.
Juice will collect in bowl as you work.
Add enough water to juice to make 1 cup liquid.
Chill orange bits several hours.
Just before serving, melt butter over low heat, add flour and stir.
Add sugar and juice.
Cook until thickened and shiny.
Remove from heat and add vanilla.
Slice pound cake thin.
Put orange bits from fridge on first slice.
Cover with second slice.
Dribble hot sauce over top. Sauce can be reheated as needed over candle warmer or in microwave.
