Raisin Drop Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. water
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. shortening
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Bring raisins and water to a boil.
    Boil until the raisins are plump, about 3 minutes.
    Cool.
    Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices together.
    Cream the shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
    Stir in the raisins and any remaining water.
    Gradually add the flour mixture, blending thoroughly after each addition.
    Stir in nuts. Drop by tablespoon about 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Makes 3 dozen large or 100 small cookies.
