Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1/2 c. sliced grated onion
    1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
    1 c. diced celery
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, uncooked
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. garlic powder
    1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Shred lettuce and layer with onion, water chestnuts, celery and peas.
    Spread with mayonnaise over the top.
    Sprinkle with sugar, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese and salt.
    Chill 24 hours before serving.
    Garnish with 3 hard-boiled eggs, bacon bits and tomato wedges.
    Sprinkle parsley flakes and paprika as a finishing touch.
