Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. sour cream
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. lemon extract
5 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Cream sugar, shortening, eggs, sour cream, vanilla and lemon extract until smooth and fluffy.
In a separate bowl, mix all dry ingredients until blended, then add to the creamed mixture and mix thoroughly.
Refrigerate for one hour.
Roll out to about 3/8-inch thick and cut with a 3-inch biscuit cutter.
Sprinkle with sugar and bake approximately 10 minutes in a 350\u00b0 preheated oven.
