Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. whole strawberries
    5 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Arrange strawberries in heavy saucepan in alternate layers with sugar, making sugar the first layer.
    Bring slowly to a boil and cook 9 minutes.
    Add lemon juice and let stand overnight.
    The next day, boil 9 minutes.
    Pour into sterilized jars and tightly seal.
