Jewish Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. Crisco oil
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. orange juice
    2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    4 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    4 to 6 apples, peeled and sliced thin
Preparation
    Grease and flour tube pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Put apples in a bowl.
    Mix 1/4 cup of sugar with cinnamon.
    Mix oil and remaining 2 1/4 cups of sugar until fluffy; cream well.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Add dry ingredients; add juice and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
    Place 1/2 batter in greased and floured tube pan.
    Layer apples, cinnamon and sugar.
    Cover apples with remaining butter.
    Bake; cool on a rack.
