Ingredients

2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

In small bowl, mix flour.
In another bowl, combine shortening and sugars.
Cream at medium speed.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat until creamy.
Gradually add flour; mix until smooth.
Add chocolate chips.
Drop by level tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
Yields 4 1/2 to 5 dozen.
