Better Than Ever Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box butter flavored cake mix
    1 large can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple
    1 c. sugar
    1 large box (6 oz.) instant vanilla pudding
    about 2 1/2 c. milk
    1 (8 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping
    1 c. chopped nuts
    6 oz. shredded coconut
Preparation
    Prepare cake in a 9 x 13-inch pan according to package directions.
    Cook sugar and pineapple together until sugar has dissolved.
    Spread on cake.
