Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. cucumbers
    2 onions
    2 Tbsp. slat
    1 c. vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. ground turmeric
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers and onions in a bowl.
    Add salt.
    Cover with water and let stand for 2 or 3 hours.
    In deep pot combine vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, turmeric and celery seed.
    Drain cucumbers and onions.
    Bring solution to a boil.
    Add cucumbers and onions and cook for about 20 minutes or until pickles change color.
    Put in jars and seal.
    Let age 3 weeks.
