Oatmeal Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. rolled oats
    1 c. sour milk
    1/3 c. shortening (part butter)
    1 egg
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Soak together for 1 hour the rolled oats and sour milk.
    Mix together well the shortening, egg and brown sugar.
    Sift together soda, salt, flour and baking powder.
    Stir in with oats and milk. Fill tins 2/3 full.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Makes 12.
