Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 large bananas
2/3 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2/3 c. nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and flour pan.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda together; set aside.
Mix shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Alternate flour mixture with buttermilk, beating well after each addition.
Add vanilla. Mash bananas and add to mixture.
Mix thoroughly.
Stir in nuts. Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan or two 9-inch round pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 40 minutes.
