Tarheel Breakfast - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. bacon
1 dozen eggs
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
2 tsp. powdered buttermilk
milk
shortening
water
2 to 2 1/2 Tbsp. flour
Preparation

Fry bacon.
Mix flour and buttermilk in bowl until combined. Add shortening until flour feels like cornmeal.
Add water a dash at a time until dough is rollable.
Roll onto floured surface and cut circles with glass to make biscuits.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until brown (10 to 15 minutes).
Remove bacon.
Place flour into drippings; brown until clumpy.
Add enough milk to thicken.
Fry eggs.
Serve with hot biscuits and gravy with crumbled bacon on top.
