Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. water
    5 c. (1 1/2 lb.) raw peanuts
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 Tbsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cook sugar, corn syrup and water to 240\u00b0.
    Add peanuts.
    Cook to 295\u00b0, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat; add butter.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Add soda and salt; stir vigorously.
    Pour out on a buttered slab and spread as thinly as possible.
    Cool.
    Break or cut into pieces when ready.
    Makes about 50 pieces.
