Pear Preserves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 lb. fresh pears, peeled and sliced
6 c. sugar
1/2 sliced lemon
1/4 c. water
1 (3 oz.) pkg. liquid pectin (optional)*
Preparation

In a large, heavy pot, combine pears, sugar, water and lemon. Bring to a boil.
Lower heat.
Cover and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Makes about 8 pints.
