Gingersnaps - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients.
Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly.
Add molasses and egg, beating until light and fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients, mixing well.
Chill 1 hour.
Shape into 3/4-inch balls; roll in sugar.
Arrange on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cookies will crack on top and settle slightly when done.
Remove to wire rack to cool.
