Penna. Dutch Eb'L Dumplings(Apple Dumplings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. cold milk
    6 medium-size apples, pared and cored
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add milk and mix to a smooth dough.
    Turn onto a floured surface and divide into 6 portions.
    Roll each section large enough to cover one apple.
    Place an apple on each piece of pastry.
    Mix sugar and cinnamon together.
    Fill each core cavity with the cinnamon mixture.
    Moisten edges of the pastry, bring over the apple and seal.
    Place on a greased baking sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 about 35 minutes or until apples are tender and pastry is light brown.
    Serve with warm milk or cream.
