Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour (self-rising)
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1/2 onion, chopped
    1 Tbsp. jalapeno slices, diced
    1 small can creamed corn
    3/4 c. Cheddar cheese
    1 egg
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients together and pour into a large iron skillet that has been heated with 1 tablespoon oil and sprinkled with cornmeal.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until brown.
    Very good served with homemade vegetable soup.
