Grandpa Perkins' Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 c. white syrup
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    nuts (optional)
    6 c. sugar
    2 c. white Karo syrup
    1 large can Pet milk
    1 small can Pet milk
    1/2 lb. real butter
    2 lb. pecans
Preparation
    Cook the mixture like fudge in a heavy pan, stirring all the time with a wooden spoon.
    Test in a cold cup of water to a very firm soft ball, like fudge.
    Then remove from heat and start beating by hand or mixer until creamy.
    Stir in nuts. You may pour in a damp cloth like a date loaf or pour in a long buttered Pyrex dish.
    Let cool and cut.
