Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 small can coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream the margarine, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add egg yolks; mix well.
    Sift flour and soda together and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Add vanilla, coconut and nuts. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into three 9-inch greased and floured cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
